Roger L. Anderson, USAF CMSGT, retired, passed away peacefully May 8, 2012, with his loving family at his side. He was born February 22, 1935, in Erie, PA, a son of the late Gustaf Anderson and Henrietta Stankiewicz Anderson Daub. Roger was united in marriage to the former Christiane Kanbach, on October 24, 1959, in Germany. He proudly served his Country in the United States Air Force, retiring as CMSGT, after 30 years of service. He later worked in the personnel department at Griffiss Air Force Base. He was a member of the Utica Maennerchor, Mohawk Valley Chiefs Group, American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, Retired Enlisted Association and a member of St. Peter's Church in Erie, PA. Roger loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He loved traveling and often returned to Germany to visit family and attend many of the local events and festivals. He enjoyed following sports and was a true Yankee, Syracuse Orange and Buffalo Bills fan. Roger is survived by his wife, Christiane; three daughters and two sons in law, Petra and Michael Jeror, Bettina "Tina" Carman, and Rosa and Timothy Rogers, all of Rome; a son and daughter in law, Marc and Catherine Anderson of Crestview, FL; sisters and brothers, Karen Milewski, Nancy Konieczki, James Anderson, Gustaf Anderson, Jr., and Harold Daub; grandchildren, Daniel Jeror and wife Tracy and Nicholas Jeror, Joseph and Heidi Anderson, Jessica and Joshua Carman, Kristina Anderson and partner Justin Devoe, Karen, Heather, Tyler and Amanda Rogers; great grandchildren, Tessa Jeror, Cecelia DeLeonardo, Abel and Jiraiya Anderson, and soon to arrive Corbin Devoe. He was predeceased by a brother, Richard Daub. The funeral service will be private. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Utica Maennerchor, 5535 Flanagan Road, Marcy, NY 13403 Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street
