In 1990 Roger hired me to work in the retirement section of the Separations Unit at CBPO. He turned out to be a great boss, very supportive, helpful and patient. I was only working there a few short weeks when I learned my husband was terminally ill. Roger couldn't have been kinder to this very distraught employee. When I had to use up much of my own leave to care for my husband he was not only understanding but offered to share some of his own accumulated leave. When I finally returned back to work, he had kept up with the ongoing retirement applications so that I did not return to work facing a huge pile of backlog. (So he did his job and mine!) From time to time I ran into him over the years since Griffiss closed and remember one of those times (1995) when I was standing in line at the Frankfurt, Germany airport, waiting to board my return flight to the U.S. I heard a familiar voice behind me and when I turned around there he and his wife were, waiting for the same plane! Small world. Rest in peace Roger. I know you will be missed by many who knew you.Thank you again for serving our country as both a member of the USAF and as a civilian employee. You were a great supervisor!

Chris and family, I did not see a lot of my brother, but the times that I did were always great. He was like everyone said, funny and always had a smile on his face and never did I ever see him mad. As a child growing up I remember what a jokster he was. You will always have the memories of what a wonderful man he was. He is now happy with God and looking over his family. Love, Karen

I am not very good with words but here goes...I have so many wonderful memories of the greatest man Ive ever known. He was always so kind and so gentle and would do anything for anyone. My Dad was a quiet man most of the time but usually you could tell what he was thinking by the look on his face. That wasn't always a great thing. Mom did most of the disciplining (after all she is the German) lol and Dad, well he let her. For the most part we didn't ever have alot of family close by, but that was OK we all had each other and between Mom and Dad they kept us close. I looked up to him and respected him learning many good values which I have in-turned taught my own children. My dad taught me to be honest and respectful, to be a dedicated person and do my best at whatever path I chose in life. I will miss his silly giggle every time I hugged him and told him I loved him, I will miss the way he called me "T' which not many do. My heart is full of beautiful memories that will never fade...Ill miss you dad,,every day for the rest of my life. Tina
