Obituary of Susan Ann Burke
Susan Ann Burke, age 55, of the Town of Annsville, passed away peacefully at home on March 11, 2021, surrounded by her loving family.
Susan was born in Rome on September 8, 1965 to Paul and Christine Bingham Hammond. She graduated from Camden High School and received her Associate’s Degree from MVCC. She married the love of her life, Daniel Burke, on July 29, 1987. She was employed at Peraton on Griffiss AFB as a contractor.
Susan enjoyed crocheting and volunteered often at Point Rock Methodist Church for several events. She loved with her whole heart and if she loved you, you felt it. She was famous for her hugs and kisses. She loved her pool days and beach days and just being with her family. She cherished her time with her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Susan is survived by her loving husband, Dan; her mother, Christine; grandchildren, Isaiah, Annemarie, and Elijah Greer; stepchildren, Jenn Hines and Casey Burke; a sister, JoAnn Strasser; brother-in-law, Steven Strasser; her father-in-law, Daniel Burke; and several nieces, nephews, and brothers and sisters in law. She was predeceased by her son, Robert Lawrence in 2013; and her father, Paul.
Susan’s funeral and celebration of life will be held on Wednesday at 6 PM, at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be in Point Rock Cemetery in the spring.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 to 6 PM prior to the funeral. Those attending are required to have a facial covering and only a limited number of people will be allowed in at a time.
