Dear Dan and Family, I am so very sorry for Sue's passing. She was such a kind and wonderful lady. She and I worked together for years together at Exelis/Harris/Peraton and we spent many hours working side by side. Even in the toughest of times, she could find a silver lining. We would end up laughing or talking about our families or something that would change the mood. I could actually hear her smile thru the phone. She was so very kind and warm. I will truly miss her. May GOD grant hold all of you in the palm of his hand and give you comfort and peace. GOD bless you.

My Soul Sister Sue
I planted a tree for you. I picked the white oak tree.
It is a long-lived tree, just like our long-lived friendship.
It is one of the most important timber species in the country, just like you are the most important friend to me in the world.
White oaks are prized landscaped specimens for the shape of their wide-spreading branches, just like your wide-spreading arms perfect for hugs and your wide-spreading love to help comfort.
The white oak is difficult to transplant successfully due to its slow growth, making a full-grown oak even more valuable, just like our 30 year friendship. It will never be transplanted with someone else. Your friendship will always be invaluable to me.
I'm already lost without you, my best friend. This white oak will help root me to you now in Heaven. As the leaves rustle, it will really be me and you talking, laughing, and crying like we did through all these years.
I love you, Sue. I miss you so much.

Donald Raymond Goppert posted a condolence
Monday, March 15, 2021
This is Donald Raymond Goppert.
Sue Hammond as I knew Her was so full of vibrance and Life.
I know that She is Dancing in the Streets Of Heaven.
She attended many of my parties throughout High School.
They were mostly outside parties. Often sunny days, blue skies; dogs and cats running around;
Cars all over the field, music blaring. Susan had a space between Her teeth that reminded me of Robin Givens.
It was immensely Sexy. We flirted a Lot with each other.
I would be at the house (Log Cabin) with many beers and Mark Murray.
Mark and I would fight because I snuck around with His "girlfriend".
Dan Spellicy would be picking a fight with every person at the Party.
David Kimball would be urinating Himself.
Rod Weeden's x would be steeling His car.
Susan never stopped smiling.
She would be at the Party from 2:00 PM until 2:00 AM.
She love Triumph "Never Surrender" and "Fight The Good Fight". The Album Allied Forces.
Of Course She loved Lynyrd Skynyrd, Allman Brothers, Pure Prairie League, The Outlaws, The Rolling Stones, The Fixx, Dire Straits, Doobie Brothers and Paul Simon.
There were i/2 Kegs all over the yard with "runs" to the Liquor Store for Sangria, Southern Comfort, Yukon Jack, Vodka, JACK DANIELS and other wine. Scott Tiller was always handy for these trips.
My friend Billy Dyer was mistreated by morons and ignorant bigoted racists.
Sue had Love in Her Heart. She did not join in with the throngs.
Faded Blue Jeans, T shirts, Sweatshirts, timberland boots, bare feet, bandanas.
She was good to Joseph Rhudy as others laughed at His guitar playing.
She was one of the only people to cheer for me when I pinned Devin Bleu in second period. I weighed 155, Devin weighed 230 lbs. I benched 300, He benched 330 pounds..
Susan Britton and I would be kissing and Scott Tiller would be with His Lady.
People made fun of Tim Walker. Sue Loved Him.
Susan was with the "B.O.C.E.S." crowd and everyone in Central New York heard the Taberg "Boys" come sailing in on cycles.
No one would contest Susan. She could stand up for Herself.
She loved me when my knee was ruined in a disgusting, bloody, metal, glass, bone, brain matter mess..
That was the night of the Holland Patent Game and Junior Prom. God Bless Lurie Flagg.
A Common Drunk that was a Sheriff's son - arranged that. Good old Marty.
Anthony Davis got watermelon jokes made about Him and I confronted the problems.
He was one of the best players on CCS football team.
Sue did not take lightly to racial discrimination.
It takes a very Holy Person to see past sick, deviant, "backwoods" "redneck" "Good Old Boy" attitudes and actions.
We lost a Saint to Heaven.
My ex girlfriends who were very "Black" ;African Princesses were scoffed at in Sylvan Beach but I know that Susan Burke would not look at Beauty with evil intent.
Jehovah God would not allow a precious Spirit and Soul such as Sue to be other than a Priestess and Holy Saint in the Eternal Realm of Jesus Christ.
God Bless Law Enforcement for letting all of Us celebrate our Youth at "The GOP's House".
With Sue and the fields, breeze, birds, Fish Creek, etc... we had a small taste of the True Heaven.
We always have another level of learning to achieve, even in these desolate times.
She didn't laugh at my flat feet; when many students mocked my "thin" legs.
My Mother weighs 77 pounds and has always been tiny.
Sue treated Her with Love, kindness, tenderness.
There is a song " when love comes to town" and I know that Jesus Christ bought Sue's salvation by Innocent Blood Shed On The Cross.
I know that Sue and Judy Scott are laughing right now and saying Thank God that it's all over. We made it; Never suffer, never know anything but Peace, Love and Unity.
Like the Great Eastern African Plains; but no predators, no hunting, no trapping, no racism, no woman beating, no anabolic steroid use for unspeakable purposes. Everyone healthy, no death. The Peaceable Kingdom with No End.
I Loved Her dearly and pray for Her.
Please Stay Strong.
She suffers no more.
Through suffering comes endurance, endurance brings God's approval. That brings hope and Hope brings Joy.
Love Lasts.
.

Dan and family, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I was never so fortunate to meet Sue in person, but was privileged to work with her at Harris/Peraton. She was knowledgeable, dedicated and always willing to help. She helped me so many times navigate the intricacies and complexities of contracts and I will really miss her. I pray that as we approach the celebration of the resurrection, God will provide an extra measure of comfort to you and assurance that Sue is experiencing a joy that for now, we can only imagine.

Sue was a great person to work with and know. Although we never met in person, we frequently talked on the phone or texted each other at work. She was caring, very helpful and very hard working. A dedicated person you could rely on to help you out when needed. I am very sad that she has left us but enriched for knowing her. I will miss her and she will be remembered with fondness! God bless you Sue! May you find peace and joy
