Carol A. Matt, age, 67, of Rome, passed away September 5, 2010, at Rome Memorial Hospital.
She was born February 12, 1943, in Rome, a daughter of Harry and Margaret Murray Thomas, and educated in Rome Schools. Carol was united in marriage to Donald P. Matt, in December 1961, in Rome. She was employed by Cornell Cooperative Extension in Rome. She was a member of St. Mary's Church.
Carol is survived by her husband, Donald; a daughter and son in law, Kathleen and James Jaynes of Rome; four sons and daughters in law, Thomas and Joni Matt of Rome, Steve and Julie Matt of Rome, Michael Matt and fiancée, Tammy Mahon of Calcium, NY, and Richard and Kelly Matt of Rome; four sisters and three brothers in law, Donna and Jerry Zimmerman of Verona, Gail and Rudy Cosentino of Westernville; Ann and Kent Frid of CA, and Rita Thomas of CA; a brother and sister in law, Norman and Joan Thomas of Herkimer; her mother in law, Victoria Matt of Rome; sister in law, Joan Pinti of Rome; 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She was predeceased by a brother, Michael Piccola and a grandchild.
Funeral services will be private. There are no calling hours.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.
