Kevin J. Covich, age 66, of Barneveld, passed away on December 16, 2018, at Vassar Brothers Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY.
Kevin was born in Auburn, NY on May 28, 1952 to Peter and Molly Boyle Covich. He graduated from St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland and received his Master's Degree from the State University of New York. Kevin worked as a resource teacher for the Rome City School District for 30 years, retiring in 2014. He was formerly married to Linda Sherman.
Kevin enjoyed golfing, his dog, Glenda, and spending time with his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy.
Kevin is survived by a daughter, Jessica Southwick of Floyd; a son and daughter in law, Matthew and Anne Covich of Poughkeepsie, NY; grandchildren, Molly, Jacob, Lillian, and Melanie; his father, Peter Covich; and two sisters and a brother in law, Katherine Covich, and Anne and Jim Haight. He was predeceased by his mother, Molly.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10 AM at the Church of St. John the Baptist. Burial will be private.
Relatives and friends may call at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, on Friday from 4 to 7 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association and/or the American Diabetes Association.
