Lois D. Martin, age 88, of Rome, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2018.
She was born October 29, 1929, in Mohawk, to the late Charles and Mildred Dilker Thumb. She was educated in the Mohawk schools. When she was a young girl, she was adopted by her grandparents, Jacob and Lillie Dilker, who raised her as their own. Lois worked as a management analyst at RADC, at Griffiss Air force Base, retiring in 1987 after many years of service. She was of the Methodist faith.
Lois enjoyed many hobbies including painting, sewing, reading and bird watching.
Lois is survived by a daughter and son in law, Linda and Gary Rogers of Lee Center; grandchildren, Jacquelyn and Roger Houle Jr., Gary Jr. and Kathy Rogers, and Jaime and Jerry Kucharek; great grandchildren, Michael (Ashley Kuzmack) LaGasse, Kristen LaGasse, Samuel Houle, Jonathan Houle, Jonathan, Joshua (Joy), James, and Jacob Rogers, Joseph and Jayson Kucharek; and three great, great grandchildren, Haley and Connor LaGasse, and Eli Churchill. She was predeceased by her significant other, Alex Sisti.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 10 AM at Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.
There are no calling hours.
