Phyllis H. (Havens) Krombach, 85, of Rome, passed away on November 26, 2017 in the company of her family, at Rome Memorial Hospital.
Phyllis was born in Rome on September 8, 1932 to the late Howard and Dorothy Havens. Phyllis was a graduate of RFA in 1950. She entered into a blessed union with her husband, Carl W. Krombach Jr., on December 6, 1951. Phyllis was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ on W. Court St. She worked for Revere Copper and Brass and retired from the Rome City School District, working multiple positions.
She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren, traveling, going to her camp in the Adirondacks, baking, dancing, listening to the Rat Pack, crafting, crosswords, and playing games. She will be joining her great companion, her collie Jessie, who she adored.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, Carl W. Krombach Jr.; her son, John (Candace) Krombach; daughters, Jodine (David) Crast, and Janice (Gary) LaBarge; two brothers, Gerald (Rose) Havens, and James Havens; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many dear nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Thursday at 2 PM at the Barry Funeral Home, 807. W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be in Rome Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 12 to 2 PM, prior to the funeral.
Memorial contributions can be made in Phyllis' name to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Alzheimer's Foundation of America, or Celiac Disease Foundation.
