Leroy J. Wallace, age 75, of Old Floyd Road, passed away June 22, 2009, at his home. He was born April 1, 1934, in Utica, a son of Joseph and Frances Miller Wallace, and educated in Westmoreland schools. Leroy was united in marriage to Carol White. He was employed at Rome Strip Steel and retired in 1993. He was a member of Stanwix Men's Club and former member of Floyd Volunteer Fire Department. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and served during the Korean War. Leroy always enjoyed having a cold beer with his friends at Casey's Bar. He is survived by his wife, Carol; a daughter and son in law, Julie and Charlie Baird of Floyd; three sons, Joseph Wallace of Rome, Jay Wallace of Rome, and Jim Wallace and fiancée, Roxanne Aldrich of Rome; a sister, Elizabeth Powers of Oneonta; 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be private. Burial will be in Floyd Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.
