Allan D. Bartlett, age 68, of Lee Center-Taberg Road, passed away peacefully at home, on May 3, 2009, with his loving family at his side. He was born July 18, 1940, in Rome, a son of Walter and Marion Rieder Bartlett, and educated in Rome schools. Allan was united in marriage to the former Marjorie Roser, on February 27, 1965, in the Lee Center United Methodist Church. He worked on the family farm, "Twin Creeks Farm", in Lee Center, and retired in 1994. He later worked at Walmart in Utica and Rome. He was a member of the Lee Center United Methodist Church. Allan was a hard working, fun loving family man, who cherished the times he spent with all his family. He also enjoyed bowling on Tuesday nights with his friends, and dancing. Allan is survived by his wife, Marjorie; his mother, Marion of Lee Center; two daughters and a son in law, Brenda and Jay Brown of Blossvale, and Princess Bartlett of Salisbury, NC; a sister and brother in law, Janet and William Chrysler of Lee Center; and a brother and sister in law, Lee and Carol Bartlett of Tuscon, AZ; two granddaughters, Stephanie Horne and Jinnelle Bartlett of Blossvale; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held Thursday at 10:00 AM at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Stokes. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home, Wednesday 4 to 8 PM. The family wishes to sincerely thank Hospice and Palliative Care for their compassion and care extended to Allan during his illness.
