Obituary of Doris E. Newey

Doris E. Newey, age 80, of Golly Road, passed away April 7, 2009. She was born January 24, 1929, in Rome, a daughter of Herman and Anna Healy Rapke, and educated in Rome schools. Doris was a housekeeper for many area families and churches over the years. She was a member of the Lee Methodist Church and Lee Grange. Doris loved entertaining her family, crocheting and playing Bingo. Doris is survived by three daughters and two sons in law, Carol Butterfield of W. VA, Becky and Richard Jantzi of Munnsville, and Joyce and Allen Salisbury of Rome; a son and daughter in law, Ronald "Pete" and Darlene Newey of Lee Center; a sister, Alma Cable of Taberg; a sister in law, Hedy Rapke of Rome; 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sons, Jerry and Wayne Newey; and a brother, Harold Rapke. The funeral service will be held Thursday at 10:00 AM at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be in Lee Valley Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home, Wednesday 5 to 8 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Lee Methodist Church or American Cancer Society
