Obituary of Mary Jane Thron

Mary Jane Thron, age 81, of Circle Drive, passed away peacefully, March 25, 2009, at Oneida Healthcare Center. She was born May 29, 1927, in Rome, a daughter Earl and Beth Adams Drummond, and was educated in New London schools. Mary Jane was united in marriage to Phillip D. Thron, on June 16, 1946, in the New London Methodist Church; he died November 20, 1997. She owned and operated along with Phil, the New London Food Mart. She was a member of the New London Methodist Church and Vesta Vienna Winona Chapter of the Eastern Star. Mary Jane is survived by a daughter and son in law, Jean and Jerry Martin of Rome; a son, Glenn "Chip" Thron of Rome; and a beloved granddaughter, Cheryl Martin. The funeral service will be held Monday at 11:00 AM at Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be in Rathbunville Cemetery, Verona Mills. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home, Sunday 3 to 7 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the New London Methodist Church or American Cancer Society.
