Obituary of Arlene S. Darrow

Arlene S. Darrow Arlene S. Darrow, age 97, of Rome, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2017, at Rome Memorial Hospital. She was born December 18, 1919, in Rome, a daughter of the late Frank and Amelia Kirk Amann. Arlene was united in marriage to George R. Darrow on February 7, 1948, in Rome; he died on September 4, 2002. She was a school crossing guard for the Rome City School District, retiring after seventeen years of service. She was a member of St. Peter's Church and former member of the Queen Ester Rebecca Lodge #71. Arlene is survived by two daughters and a son in law, Joyce and Stephen Jeffries of Greenfield, IN, and Jean Magliocca and her fiancé, Brian Daprix of Utica; 3 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Anna Mae Fuller, a brother, Edwin Amann, and a sister in law and brother in law, Ann and Arnold Younglove. A graveside service will be held at Rome Cemetery on Saturday at 11:30 AM. There are no calling hours.
