Obituary of Kimberly D. Lepore

Kimberly D. Lepore, age 56, of the Town of Verona, passed away unexpectadly on April 30, 2017. Kim was born in Albany, NY on April 4, 1961 to the late Mario Lepore, and late Eleanor (Kearns) Fink. She graduated from Columbia High School in East Greenbush, NY in 1979. Kim served as a Corrections Officer for over 10 years for the New York State Department of Corrections, and then another 21 years as a Corrections Sergeant, before retiring. She began her career at Albion C.F., followed by Green Haven C.F., Coxsackie C.F., and finally retiring from Mohawk C.F. in 2015. Kim was an avid 2nd Amendment supporter, and was very patriotic. She was an animal advocate, who was fond of her bird, cats, horses, and dog. She enjoyed driving her tractor on her farm, camping in Alexandria Bay, boating, and cruises. Kim is survived by two daughters Erica Nusbaum, and Megan (Lepore) Lince, and a son in law, Jeremy Lince; a sister and brother in law, Angela Lepore-Tubbs and Scott Tubbs; two brothers, and three sisters in law, Tony and Anne Lepore, Deborah Lepore, Mario Lepore Jr., and Rita (Lepore) Mclean; her uncle, Gary Cameron; several cousins, nieces, and nephews; her K-9 companion, Stella; and her dear friends, Jill Chudy, Barbara Greene, and Karen Strom. She was predeceased by a brother, John Lepore, and an aunt, Sheila Cameron. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 6th, 2017 at 3 PM, at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, Rome NY. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 1 to 3 PM, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kim's name can be made to the Orleans County Animal Control Shelter, 4125 Oak Orchard Road, Albion, NY 14411.
