Obituary of Suzanne C. Nessel

Suzanne Cobb Nessel, age 72, of the Town of Floyd, passed away peacefully February 26, 2017, at the Siegenthaler Center. Suzanne was born June 21, 1944, in Oneida, a daughter of Donald O. and Helen Griffing Cobb, and graduated from VVS in 1962. Suzanne was united in marriage to Robert l. Nessel, on November 19, 1966, in Verona; he died December 31, 2002. She worked at Rome Labs and retired after 48 years of service. She was an active member of the Floyd United Methodist Church Suzanne life revolved around her family and her church, where she served as Choir Director. Suzanne is survived by two sons, Steven R. Nessel and Robert L. Nessel, Jr, both of Floyd; grandchildren, Ian Nessel, Julia Nessel, Joshua Nessel and Kaitlin Nessel; and several brothers and sisters and nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at Westernville Cemetery in the spring. There are no calling hours. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Memorial contributions may be made to the Siegenthaler Center or Hospice and Palliative Care.
