I have known the Schoff family most of my adult life and best friends with Brenda's brother, Chuck. I spent many afternoons and evenings in their home visiting Chuck and in so doing, got to know Brenda quite well. Brenda was then finishing high school and attending college. We would sit at the kitchen table talking sports, politics, family and misc. bantor. Always lively, intelligent (mostly) and fun. Brenda did have a wide range of knowledge and a wicked sense of humor. It was truly great and a privilege to be part of their family.

Schoffo,You have had a lifelong impact on my life.Although,I have held many leadership roles ,working with you as Co-Advisor with our classes-I wisely took a supportive role,"Doing as I was Told".You made that easy for me with your exceptional oganization skills, creative ideas and overall insight! My wife Janice always referred to you as my "Work Wife". We all recognized your large giving Heart and ability to empathsize with your students and their love for you.You not only spent your last dime on your students but Your FUTURE dimes as well.I still own part of a shredded credit card you gave me to reduce your debt.I have/will always Cherish the time we Shared-My Sister-My Work Wife -My Great Friend!! My deepest sympathies to the Schoff family and friends. Brenda was an exciting co-worker and friend to be across the hall from. She always had something going on to brighten and cheer those around her whether it was an activity, some advice or her inexhaustible wit. Brenda was more than just a teacher at SSCS. She was a great leader of fun and activities from the Holly berry hunt, Santa and elf pictures, greetings at the Christmas Wish dinner, Halloween costume fun and songs, her devotion to Duke, to creative piñatas with the Hippopotamus song playing cheerfully in the background....Brenda has touched so many lives and made them better. These are just a few of the happy memories where she has left her mark. She is sorely missed.

To the Schoff family: My sincerest condolences as Brenda had been for me an unforgettable childhood acquaintance in my having known her from elementary school through RFA. Although we were not close friends, I can clearly remember instances of her overall good nature, her concern for others' well being and, lastly, being a person firmly committed to her faith. Brenda, you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Brenda, a cousin, each year she would come to the Family Reunion with an outstanding created Pinata! Inside was the best candy, toys and trinkets! The children really, over many years really enjoyed the fun!
She also contributed with assisting in cooking the best barbecued chicken you could ever have! For the chinese auction, she would pick quarts/bags of blueberries. They were a big hit and typically brought in a good bid! Saving the best for last! Thank you!
You will be missed! Family love, Karen Dobkowsi Dodge and family

Brenda became my best friend, Aunt Brenda to Renee and Mason, cohort in crime with Doug and an integral part of our family. We have been so fortunate to have had such a remarkable woman in our lives and of course it is just never long enough. Brenda first and foremost was a teacher; of her subject matter and of life lessons. She loved her students and always accepted their individuality. Her intelligence, wit and humor were remarkable. Brenda was a friend, a sanctuary, a person in our lives that we could always count on; our adviser, our therapist, our rock-our dear friend. She made the worst of times bearable and the best of times more special. The loss is deep and difficult and we can hear her now; “just get on with it, don’t dwell, move forward.” So many memories, so many capers; so many crazy fun times that we will cherish forever. Our love to the Schoff family; to our surrogate sister Marsha-we love you! Rest in peace our beautiful, wonderful friend. We will love you always and forever! And oh yeah… GO DUKE!

To the Schoff Family, My deepest condolences to your family. Brenda was one of my favorite coworkers at SSCS. Probably because I found another Duke Super Fan like myself. I remember always having someone to talk about the big game with. She will truely be missed. I will be thinking of her today as I go to the Syracuse/Duke game. I know she will be cheering on our Boys in Blue from Heaven.

I am so very sad to hear of the passing of Brenda Schoff. I worked with her from the beginning of my career at Sharon Springs Central School. My deepest condolences go out to her Family as I know how important you all were to her. When I say family - first and foremost - the Family she was born into. But I also want to include the SSCS Family - Colleagues but most Importantly HER KIDS. I can't think of her without thinking of how much she LOVED the kids she worked with. They were such a priority to her. Then I think about how lucky I was to be able to work with her. When I first started at SSCS we were both young and enthusiastic! We were at school until late in the evening (like 9:00 p.m.) working hard for the students of SSCS. We also spent many late nights working on HUGE calendars for the faculty lounge. They were a labor of love for the staff as well. They were huge and we tried to include decorations to be pleasing and uplifting to the faculty to keep us all in a positive frame of mind. It was a blast and we LOVED doing it. WE had a great camaraderie because we both loved the students and knew we worked with so many people who were there for the same reason. We shared so many laughs, shared what was going on in our own lives with nieces (at the time for me, shared our challenges and tried to encourage each other when it was harder than usual. From the beginning to the end of her time at SSCS - her KIDS were such a huge and important focus in her life! SSCS was so LUCKY to have her! Her KIDS will be the first to say so and so will so many of her colleagues! That beautiful smile, soul will be missed more than maybe she realized! I will miss you my friend! ALL MY LOVE, Sue Schmidt
