Obituary of Jesse L. Beckwith

Jesse L. (Buck) Beckwith, Jr., 78, of Rome, NY, passed away April 3, 2012 at home with his loving family at his side. He endured a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Jesse was born on March 8, 1934, son of Alice (Treen) and Jesse L. Beckwith Sr. Buck was previously employed by General Lumber Co. and Rome Cable, later establishing his own Home Remodeling Business. A "Jack of All Trades," he enjoyed sharing his knowledge with his children, but his passion was working in his garage on his cars and trucks. Jesse was a long standing member and held many offices of Loyal Order of Moose 901, Rome, NY.
He is survived by his loving wife Yvonne (Posello) Beckwith and their son, Jason; two brother-in-laws, Fred and spouse Christine Posello of Lee Center and Mike and spouse Nancy Posello of Florida; a special niece, Michelle Posello and nephews, Bernard Hochstuhl and Ron (Butch) Beckwith.
Also surviving are ten sons and five daughters: Jesse P. Beckwith of Florida; Mark L. Beckwith of Rome; Jerry D. Beckwith and spouse, Lisa of Verona; daughter Cynthia (Beckwith) Yager of Massena; and their mother, Ethel (Wescott) Hoggart; Cheryl (Cherie Sanders) Hebert and Spouse, David of Litchfield, NH; Keith Beckwith and Judy Pawlikowski of Lee Center; Kevin Beckwith and Kellie Molineux of Rome; Kyle Beckwith of Rome; Mary (Beckwith) Sharpe and George Marsh of Floyd, NY; Kendall Beckwith of Rome; Kirk Beckwith of Rome; Melissa (Bekwith) Drake and spouse William of Castile, NY; Christine Beckwith and Ray Jimenez of Rome; Kreg Beckwith of Rome; and their mother, Donna (Young-Sanders) Beckwith.
Other members of the family include: Tia (Pomilio) Beckwith, mother of grandchildren Kevin and Maranda Beckwith; Gwen Hosley, mother of grandchildren Karisa and Kyle Beckwith; Barbara Fadel, mother of granddaughters Kayla, Alexis and Carly Beckwith; Mark Madonia, father of granddaughter Alicia Madonia; grandchildren Nicole and Desiree Beckwith; Keith, Nathan and Brandon Sharpe; Zachary and Brianna Dake; Skyla and Raelyn Jimenez; Jessica Beckwith; Danielle Beckwith; Christopher and Matthew Yager; Christopher, Jason, Jerry Jr., Santina and Seth Beckwith; Dominica, Cody and Mateo Serianni; Matt and Allysia and great grandson Blake Sharpe.
He is also survived by siblings Jean DeAngelo, Betty Lou Cook, Sally Perry, Georgianna Corigliano, Shirley (Walter) Dudley, Diane Hewitt, Bonnie Sue (Jerry) Gatto, Deborah Young, Charles (Linda) Beckwith, Ronald (Priscilla) Beckwith, and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Buck was predeceased by a brother Richard Beckwith, a sister Carol Davis, and a granddaughter Shyanna O'Brien.
Yvonne would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to her co-workers, OR, PACU and Ambsurg. The family wishes to thank the staff of Rome Hospital and Hospice for the excellent care and support through his final journey.
To honor Buck's wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no services.
Arrangements are entrusted to Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.
