My first preparation day in the mission, Brother Withey took me and my trainer to Boonville to help clean out an older woman's flooded basement (and to stop by Pixley Falls on the way back to Rome). Many people his age would have left the messy work to the young guys, but not Brother Withey, who worked alongside us and helped direct things. He always set an example of cheerful service. I had many opportunities to work with him during that transfer and then again towards the close of my mission. He had an infectious sense of humor, and people around him relied on his good sense and integrity. Best wishes to all who miss him at this time and until the bright day when we meet again.

Dear Charlie I was so sad to hear of your passing. You brightened my life when you entered my Aunt Lo's life through the church. I will always remember your wonderful sense of humor and your patience with my many questions. Heaven has 1 more angel now.

Dear Charles, I am really gonna miss our dinners together on Monday nights, or our gizmo talks. You were a great friend and I will miss you dearly.

Dear Charlie, I am saddened to hear of your passing. Although many years have gone by since we worked together at Knudsen's, I have such fond memories of you and Sawyer (Tom's bird). I pray that your life continued to be a good one, and that you passed peacefully and are now in the hands of our Lord (and with your beloved brother Bud)...farewell, my friend.. :)

Brother Withey, words cannot express the loss I feel with your passing. You have brought so much joy to me and many others. I will always remember the dinners with you and the missionaries. So many missionaries have been blessed by your service. I was truly blessed to know you. I promise to make sure the doors are closed each Sunday! Till we meet again!
