Lucy E. Lichko, age 88, of Rome, passed away peacefully at home on June 10, 2016, surrounded by her family.
Lucy was born in Sawyerville, PA on May 26, 1928 to the late Louis and Concetta Ballero Geno. She graduated from school in Pennsylvania. Lucy owned and operated Lucy's Beauty Salon in Rome. She was united in marriage to Joseph E. Lichko; he passed away in 1972.
Lucy was a member of the Red Hat Society and also was a 14 year volunteer with the CNY DDSO. She loved to crochet, cook, puzzles and loved animals.
Lucy is survived by two daughters, MaryAnn and Dan Libby of Floyd and Carolyn Wheeler of Rome; a son, Joseph Lichko of Chicago, Ill; five grandchildren, Mandy, Taylor, Ian, Eric and Nichole; four great, grandchildren, Faith, Matthew, Kiley, and Jason; and two sisters, Josey Prezalomic and Carmella Schillaci. She was predeceased by two sisters, Jean and Dora; and four brothers, Tony, Raymond, Joe and John.
A Celebration of Lucy's life will be held on Saturday, June 25 from 1 to 5 PM at her daughter MaryAnn's home, located at 7383 Koenig Road, Rome, NY 13440. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
There are no calling hours.
The family would like to thank Hospice for their care and compassion shown to Lucy for the past two months.
