Obituary of John Edward Nuessle

John Edward Nuessle, age 63, of Utica, passed away peacefully, on June 4, 2016.
He was born November 11, 1952, in Oswego, a son of the late Donald and Shirley Balantyne Nuessle. He graduated from Holland Patent Central School, Eisenhower College and received his Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry theological degrees from Drew University at Madison, NJ.
John served as the assistant general secretary at the General Board of Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church in New York City. In addition to his work at Global Ministries, John also held a variety of pastoral appointments in rural and urban settings and as a district superintendent.
In July of 2001 John married Ginena Dulley Wills in New York City.
John is survived by his wife Ginena, a brother and sister in law, James and Rosemary Nuessle of Floyd, a daughter and son in law, Laura and John Cordes of Elizabethtown, PA; two stepsons and daughters in law, Marc and Jennifer Wills of Orchard Park NY, and Matthew and Katie Wills of St. Petersburg, Fl. and a grandchild, Flynn Leslie Cordes.
A memorial service will be held this summer at the Big Moose Chapel in Inlet, NY.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, Rome.
