Theresa J. Rapke, age 81, of Lee Center, passed away peacefully May 24. 2016.
She was born May 25, 1934, in Rome, a daughter of the late Zenon and Jennie Mroz Doftort, and graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1951 and Faxton Hospital School of Nursing in 1955. Theresa was united in marriage to Raymond Rapke on September 24, 1955. She worked at many hospitals around the country, including locally, Rome Memorial Hospital and the former Rome State School hospital. She also worked in Dr. Henry Reid's medical office.
Theresa is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Raymond; two sons and a daughter in law, Gary and Mary Jo Rapke of Rochester, and Dale Rapke of Maine; a sister and brother in law, Cecelia and Julius Desimone of Rome; grandchildren, Brandi and Eric Waldron, Josh and Bridget Rapke, Jarrod and Kate Rapke, Jesse Rapke and Mason Rapke; great grandchildren, Brittany Miller, Shelby Waldron and Teagen Rapke; great great grandchildren, Ellie Waldron and Nora Miller; and several cherished in-laws, nieces and nephews, include two very loving and caring nieces, Debbie Bork and Cathy Welch.
Funeral services will be private.
There are no calling hours.
