Dearest Mrs.Weisenburger aka Nancy, Dave, Don, Diane & Dan, I still remember the day we met you folks when I was 6 years old, at the campground in the bathroom. You asked me where I lived, I said "Rome, NY" and you said that you'd like to meet my parents. That was 48 years ago. WOW! Many square dancing years together, and family visits were a lot of fun and will always be cherished! Mr. Weisenburger was a wonderful man, full of witty jokes and a great buddy to my father "Ed". They were two peas in a pod. I can see them now laughing and cracking jokes together in Heaven. Mr. Weisenburger...........you'll be missed very much by the Marks Family. We all love you. Gail, Glen, Gary & Jean Marks

I first met Prof.W while taking drivers education during the summer of 1966 or was it '67 at RFA. Davidson's donated a Chevelle Super Sport with stick shift and 396 engine. We took it out for country driving around the Lake. Prof had a clutch and set of brakes on the passenger side. He was a very brave man because each of us wanted to peel out and tromp on it. We were always kidding him and he would joke back. Many years past and I shook his hand as I stood in the reception line at my father's funeral. All the school teachers and war vets stick together. "How's it going Prof" I asked. He looked at me with that grin and shook his head and I knew he remembered. He said he would never forget that only a few weeks after I got my driver's license I was ticketed for doing 53 in a 30 and crossing a double solid line. Then we both laughed and hugged. What a nice guy!

Matthew 5:15 "Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house." One only had to walk the hallways of RFA in the late 70's and speak to anyone who had "Prof" as a teacher and they instantly knew he was a great man. His light will always shine thru in all the students he taught over the many years.

The year was 1973, a group of girls wanted to learn how to change a tire, oil, etc. Prof. Weisenburger said to take Auto Mechanics, but the district would not let us unless we had an entire class of girls because they did not want is in the same class with the "boys". So we got a group of girls together and in 1973-74 our graduating year, we were able to take Auto Mechanics. It was the very first class. We loved it and him. He was such a wit and taught us many good tools. We learned about cars and did great at the bookwork, but admittedly were horrible when it came to the physical stuff because we might break a nail or get dirty. But he would laugh and make fun of us. He was more than just a teacher. He became a life long mentor. Always, always would stop and talk to you in a grocery store, convenience shop and find out about your life. He watched as I got married, had 2 girls. He would rag on me big time when he would see me buying cigarettes. Well I quite 7 years ago and he was very proud of that. My daughter, Katrina, is a senior at RFA and had the good fortune of having Prof. Weisenburger as a substitute for Prof. Slater when he was out due to his daughter. She grew to love him. Pretty surprising with the age and generation difference. But she just loved his sense of humor and expressions such as "whippersnappers". Oh she got such a kick out of him. It was a pleasure to know him. To know him was to love him and I am glad that my children got to know him in he same way. He was a great man and will be missed. I apologize that I was unable to make services this weekend. March 2 was the first anniversary of my mother's passing and she was at Barry's - I found if very difficult and just could not bring myself to walk in. For that I apologize because I so wanted to pay my respects to such a wonderful man. I hope that you can find some comfort in the fact that so many people loved and respected him!

I remember Prof being my Driver's Ed teacher back in 1991. He brought us Friehofer cookies the first day of class. We use to drive around to yard sales and running errands for his wife. We had alot of fun. My children Angelique, steven, and Brittany all had him as a substitute teacher before and they loved having him for a teacher. He will be extremely missed and he was loved. We are sorry we cant be with you all physically but we are with you all in spirit.
