Obituary of George E. Carey

George E. Carey, Jr., age 60, of Lee, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2015. George was born in Trenton, NJ to the late George Sr. and Thelma Eychner Carey. He graduated from Rome Free Academy and had worked at Local 440 in Utica as an iron worker in his earlier years.. George loved motorcycles and could fix just about anything. He was known for his sense of humor. George has had many close friends and family members that have been overwhelmingly supportive during his illness. George is survived by a brother and sister in law, Dennis and Valerie Carey of Western; a granddaughter, Ryleigh Carey; and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Daniel; and two brothers, William and John Carey. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1PM at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 11 AM to 1 PM prior to the service.
