John A. Boardman, age 64, passed away peacefully at his home, April 11, 2015, with his wife by his side.
John was born December 31, 1950 in Rome, a son of the late Alfred and A. Frances Houston Boardman, and graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1969. He was united in marriage to the former, Louanne Potter on October 7, 1972; a blessed and happy marriage of 42 years. John operated a dairy farm from a young man until 1996, when he along with his wife, opened Boardman's Stonewall Market in Taberg. Most currently, John worked at Mohawk Correctional Facility as an MVO, where he enjoyed his job and co-workers dearly. John never left for work without a smile on his face. He also served the Town of Annsville for over 32 years on town boards and committees in the Republican Party.
