Obituary of Shirley Jane Sharron
Shirley Jane (Witzigman) Sharron, age 78, passed away peacefully at home on September 12, 2024.
Shirley was born at the family homestead in Lee Center on December 27, 1945, to the late John and Emma Sipley Witzigman. On November 21, 1964, she was united in marriage to Carl E. Sharron until his passing on July 16, 2022. Together, they raised three children: Carl, Del, and Kim. Shirley worked at several places including her dad’s garage in Stokes, the Rite Aid Distribution Center, Harden’s Furniture, and Happy Hearts Daycare. Her favorite job was being a caretaker for the elderly, where she met many new friends.
Shirley loved her family and went above and beyond for them epitomizing unconditional love. She radiated a selfless and amazing love for cats and dogs, dedicating her life to rescuing them and ensuring that every furry friend felt cherished and safe.
Shirley is survived by her children, Carl (Belinda) Sharron, Del Sharron, and Kimberley LaRoy; grandchildren, Jessica (Landis), Kyle (Marlyn), Amanda, D.J. (Paul), Nathan, Brandon, and Alivia; great grandchildren, Landin, Journey, Lilianna, Lailah, and Rosemary; sisters, Clara (Bob) Converse, and Debbie Wilkie; brother, John Witzigman; many loved nieces and nephews; close friends, Yvonne Grosjean, Donna Usyk, Annette Green; and her fur babies, Pandy and Gidget. She was predeceased by her sister, Donna Willson; nephew, Michael Plumeri; niece, Renee Davis; and her dear and special friend, Glenda Lemieux.
The family would like to send a huge thank you to all that supported Shirley and her family including Upstate Oncology and Radiology of Verona: you all were amazing and we will not forget your kindness, and Hospice who were our dear supporters towards the end of Shirley’s life here on earth and when she went to be with her Lord and savior, you were awesome. Thank you all!
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Private burial will be in Point Rock Cemetery.
