Obituary of Elaine C. Billman

Elaine C. Billman, 75, of Rome, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2024.

She was born January 19, 1949, in Rome, a daughter of the late William and Angelina Fiaschetti Hatfield, and graduated from Rome Free Academy.  Elaine was united in marriage to Rodney O. Billman on October 7, 1970, in Rome.  She retired from the Rome CNYDSO after many years of service.

Elaine’s life revolved around her family, and she cherished the times spent and memories made over the years.  Her children always said, “she was the best mother anyone could have.”

Elaine is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Rodney; two sons, Rodney A. Billman of Florida, and Craig M. Billman of Rome; a sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Mark Gifford of Rome; and grandchildren, Olivia Billman, Layla Billman, Carter Billman and Alexis Billman; a niece and nephew, Alicia and Jerome; and a special great niece, Karlie. In addition to her parents, Elaine was predeceased by a sister, Eleanor Kellogg; a niece, Savannah Kellogg; mother-in-law, Clara Billman Williams; and nephew, Wayne T. Neiss. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 1:00 PM, at St. Peter’s Church.  Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Taberg.

There are no calling hours.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.
