Obituary of Arthur George Brancato
Arthur G. Brancato, age 93, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, of the Town of Floyd, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2024, at Rome Health Residential Healthcare Facility.
Art was born in Oswego, on April 8, 1931 to the late Giuseppe and Maria Miano Brancato, and attended the Oswego Schools. On July 19, 1952, he was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, the former Rose Borzumate, in St. Stephen's Church, Oswego. Art proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force and then the Air National Guard, retiring in 1988. He worked in production control at Griffiss AFB, retiring in 1989 after 33 years of service.
Art was a member of the Roberts Post 161 in Holland Patent and the HRRVC. He enjoyed camping and the outdoors.
Arthur is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Rose; daughter, Patricia (Earl Teuscher) Wysluzaly of Floyd; sons, David (Rebecca) Brancato of Pulaski, and Joseph (Shirlé) Brancato of Moreno Valley, CA; grandchildren, Erin (Brian) Castro, Pamela Nestved, Rebecca (Kostas Drosatos) Brancato, Joseph (Ashten) Wysluzaly, Jeffrey (Paulina) Wysluzaly, Jennifer (Armando) Rivera, Nicholas (Savannah) Brancato, and Christopher (Elle) Chance; ten great grandchildren; brother, James Brancato; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Grace Brancato.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Drs. Lwin Win and Richard Cherny, as well as to the special nurses on 3E and 3S at the Residential Healthcare Facility for their care, compassion, and friendship shown to Art and his family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Leo's-St. Ann’s Church, Holland Patent, with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio officiating. Burial with military honors will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
