Obituary of Louise M. Marcoccia
Louise M. (Yazzi) Marcoccia, 92, of Rome, passed away peacefully, August 24, 2024, at Bethany Gardens, after a brief illness.
She was born February 17, 1932, in Rome, a daughter of Dominick Yazzi, Sr. and Domenica Luigia Appolonia Yazzi. She was educated in Rome schools. Louise was united in marriage to Anthony S. Marcoccia, on July 19, 1952, in the Church of St. John the Baptist; he died on March 18, 1999.
Louise was a warm, loving homemaker. She welcomed everyone who came to her home with a beautiful smile and lots of delicious Italian food and coffee. Louise loved everyone she met and they loved her. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was always an inspiration to family and friends. Louise uplifted everyone who met her with kindness and love. She loved God and prayed every day, especially with her Rosary Beads. She was the youngest of 8 siblings, and will be truly missed and remembered by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and all that knew and loved her.
Louise is survived by two daughters and a son in law, Bernet LaLonde of Rome, and Lana and Dale Wagner of Verona; a son and daughter in law, Bernard and Robin Marcoccia of Hampton, VA; grandchildren, Tara and Scott Anthony of State College, PA, Jeffrey and Shyla LaLonde of Rome, Jennifer and Ryan Lachmayr of Douglas, MA, Emily Wagner and fiance, William Brown, and Brett Marcoccia of Hampton, VA; great grandchildren, Lauren and Bridget Anthony of State college, PA, Faye LaLonde of Rome, twins, Cole and Dominick Lachmayr of Douglas, MA; sisters in law, Ida Koder, Lena Coniglio, Gloria and Mike Fiaschetti, Gilda Salce, Carmella DeProspero and Sandra Kaczor; brothers in law, Constantino and Augustine Marcoccia. Louise was predeceased by her husband, Anthony, her parents, Dominck and Domenica Yazzi, son in law, Carman J. LaLonde, her sisters, Rose Barte, Amelia Furno and husband, Sal, Mary Paparella and husband, John, Nellie Martinez and husband, Frank, Josephine Fragapane and husband, Sam, and brothers, James Yazzi and Dominick Yazzi, Jr, and wife, Geraldine, sister in law, Josephine Benedetto, and brother in law, Dominick Marcoccia.
The family extends a special thank you to the wonderful, kind, and caring staff of Bethany Gardens. Everyone who cared for Louise was very helpful to her and her family, and always showed compassion and love.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio, on Thursday at 12:00 Noon, at the Church of St. John the Baptist. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
