Obituary of Robert F. Schieble
Robert Francis Schieble, age 95, adored husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great grandfather passed away peacefully on August 10, 2024 with his family by his side.
Bob was born on June 17, 1929 to Ruth V. (Farnsworth) and Fred P. Schieble in Rome. He attended St. Mary’s Catholic School and participated in the church as an altar boy and sang in the choir. He was married to the love of his life for 71 years, Catherine E. Coss on May 6, 1950 at Saint Stephen’s Church. They were members of St. Mary’s/St. Peter’s Church. Bob ran a family-owned dairy farm with the support of his wife Kay until they retired after which they traveled extensively with close friends and family. He loved going to church, his farm and all the hard work that came along with that, his garden, music, singing and his sweets.
Bob loved his very large family and is survived by his amazing children, Jack (Fran), Jim (Betty), Marie (Mike) Stafford, William (Linda), Paul (Christine), Betty (Eric) Dousharm, Susan (Daryl) Johnson; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren; his brother-in-law, Beecher (Sandy) Coss; special friend, Rosemary Stickles, and our other family, the Meyers family; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Catherine, his brother Leo, his sisters, Marjorie Marolf and Eleanor Benesch; and his special friends, George, Ray, Rose, and Bob.
A special Thank You to the 3rd floor staff at Bethany Gardens who cared for our father and us in his final days.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday at 9 AM at St. Peter’s Church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, on Tuesday (today) from 4 to 7 PM.
