Alun Francis Coss, 64, of Rome, NY, passed away, from Covid, on April 15, 2024, at Ellis Hospital in Schnectady.

Alun was born on June 2, 1959, at Rome Hospital, to Francis and Ann Coss. Alun received recognition, at two years of age, as the first child to receive the oral polio vaccine in Oneida County. Also, at two years old, his mother received a call from his grandmother informing her daughter that she could see Alun walking on his roof from her kitchen window! Alun was three rungs up from the bottom of the ladder when he was snagged-up by his distraught mother! Alun would go on to climb many more ladders as a member, in good standing, with Local #277 Carpenters Union, for over 43 years.

Alun enjoyed Sunday picnics and water skiing, alpine skiing, hunting and fishing, camping and boating, including sailing adventures with his brothers. Alun looked forward to his Sunday chess nights and holiday dinners at the home of his good friends, Peter and Brenda Antonowicz.

Alun leaves his beloved significant other and best friend, Angela Johnston; his cat, Tigger; dog, Princess; two brothers, Edward Coss and Dr. David (Kathy) Coss; two sisters, Patricia (Greg) Key and Linda (Tim) Martin; niece, Kathy Griswald and her daughter, Lily; nephews, Dr. Casey Key and Damion (Heidi) Martin and their son, Oliver; uncle and aunt, Beecher and Sandy Coss; uncle, Robert Schieble; and many, many beloved cousins, with special mention of Luke Stafford.
