Obituary of Brian A. Esch

Brian A. Esch, age 71, of Remsen, passed away on March 18, 2014 at Rome Memorial Hospital. Brian was born on September 26, 1942 in Rome, to the late Leon and Grace Conklin Esch. He graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1961, and then proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force until 1968. Brian was united in marriage to the former Carol Bardey in 1964 in Ipswich, England. Brian worked as a supervisor for many years at Orion Bus Industries in Oriskany, retiring in 2008. Brian was a member of the Tappet Twirlers Automobile Club of Rome, and was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed his time with family and friends at their hunting camp at North Lake, as well as time spent in both Stillwater Reservoir and Allagash, Maine. Brian is survived by his loving wife, Carol; three sons and two daughters in law, Richard and Eileen Esch of Forestport, David Esch and partner, Victor Miranda of Portland, OR, and Steven and Julie Esch of Kennebunkport, ME; four granddaughters, Lauren, Madison, Sophia, and Isabel, who were the light of his life; and three brothers and sisters in law, James and Dolores Esch of Rome, Paul and Lisa Esch of Verona, David and Mary Anne Esch of Barneveld; nieces and nephews, and a special k-9 companion, Cloey. He was predeceased by an infant son, Andrew. As per Brian's wishes there will be no calling hours; however, a Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
