Obituary of William Arthur Dibble

William Arthur Dibble, age 91, of Rome, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2023, at Rome Health. 

William was born in the Town of Constable, NY on July 28, 1932, to the late William and Margaret Hunt Dibble, and graduated from Malone Free Academy. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and was honorably discharged in 1952, and received the Korean Service Medal with three bronze stars. William worked as a heavy machine operator for Local 545 Operating Engineers in Syracuse, and also worked for several local contractors. 

William is survived by his granddaughter, Ashley Dibble; sister, Grace Phetterplace; brother, William J. Dibble; daughter in law, Cindy Dibble; several nieces and nephews; and his neighbors who became his second family, Mark and Joanne Gualtieri, and their children, Arielle, Dominick, and Elena. He was predeceased by his son, Kevin; grandson, Nicholas; and brothers, Earl and Robert Dibble. 

A funeral service with military honors will be held on Saturday, December 30, at 10 AM, at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. 

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 9 to 10 AM prior to the services.
