Obituary of Timi Jon Gamble

Timi J. Gamble, age 62, of Rome, passed away peacefully at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, with his loving family at his side, after a brief illness.

He was born November 5, 1961, in Watertown, a son of the late Chester and Joan Baldwin Gamble. Timi was united in marriage to the former Jacqueline Emerson on February 11, 1984 in Watertown, NY.  He was a cable splicer for Verizon, retiring after 35 years of service. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of St. Peter’s Church.

Timi was always a big kid at heart and loved to talk to people about his games, hobbies, favorite movies and tv shows. He was the family's fun uncle and everyone has fond and funny stories about Timi. He was always up to playing a game or doing a puzzle during family holidays and get-togethers. Unbeknownst to most, he was the partner in crime to many of the kids in the family when they got in trouble. He loved being home with his family, and Timi and Jacqueline both enjoyed a close relationship with their extended families.

Timi is survived by his loving wife, Jacqueline; daughters, Racheal Gamble of Raleigh, NC, and Nicole Gamble and Alex Rivera of Syracuse; sisters, Jody Paige of Sackets Harbor, Billie and Frederick McAdam of East Aurora, and Gail Torres of Dexter; a brother Chester Gamble of Watertown; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at 11:00 AM, at St. Peter’s Church in Rome. Military Honors will be rendered at St. Peter’s Church.  Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery at a later date.

Relatives and friends may call at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, on Friday, December 8, 2023 from 4 to 7 PM.

The family asks in lieu of flowers for donations to Alzheimer’s’ Association, 441 W. Kirkpatrick Street Syracuse, NY 13204-1305, or a local chapter of Habitat for Humanity in honor of previously lost family members.
