Obituary of Lawrence John Meus II
Lawrence John Meus II, age 36, passed away suddenly at his home, on Sunday morning, July 16, 2023.
Lawrence ("John") was born on April 16, 1987, at St. Elizabeth’s hospital in Utica, the son of Pamela J. (Wahl) Kinstle and Lawrence J. Meus. He graduated from Holland Patent High School with the class of 2005. He was currently working for Elite Car Wash of Utica and was an extremely hard worker. He belonged to the Roberts Post American Legion in Holland Patent, and was an Eagle Scout. He enjoyed going to concerts, listening to music, especially Lil Wayne, Paramore, Jelly Roll, and ICP. Lawrence also liked tattoos, piercings, the minions, mohawks, watching his favorite shows, House M.D., Bones, Angel, and Trailer Park Boys. He was a devoted New England Patriots and Tom Brady fan, and continued following Tom when he joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Lawrence was a special, unique person who was a loving son, brother, cousin, unk, friend, and nephew. He was always there to help anyone even if at the time he did not want to. He dearly loved his niece, Elizabeth, and nephew, Joseph, and his soul mate, Ryan Chargo, whom have been together since the age of three. Lawrence will be greatly missed by his loving dog, Lyrix, who brought him great joy.
Lawrence is survived by his mother Pamela (Stephen) Kinstle of Westmoreland; his sisters, Lindsey M. Meus of Rome, Lauren Meus and spouse, Linda Skuba of Maryland, and Letricia (Robert) Karsten, Jr. of Westernville; his uncles, Ronald Meus of Floyd, Stephen (Donna) Thorn of Marcy and Jason (Kathy) O’Shields of St. Charles, Ill.; his aunts Ellin (Colin) Vogel of Cheektowaga, NY, Kelly (Rich) Fabrey of Cameron, NC, and Kristie (Kris) Zajac of Whitesboro; his cousins, Anthony Wahl, Brandon Lambert, Rebecca Lambert, Kyle (Lizzy) Thorn, Luna (Matt) Thorn, Cassandra Wahl, Brett Meus, Christy Meus, and Amanda Meus; nieces and nephews, Elizabeth Meus, Joseph Farda, and Alexis Smithling, Joseph (Meg) O’Shields, Jessica (Fran) Myers, Jeremy Fabrey, and Delvin Zajac; and many friends. He is predeceased by his father, Lawrence J. Meus; grandmothers, Marion Meus (Meme), Shirley (Mike) Tanner; grandfathers, Andrew A. Wahl, and John Meus; and his loving dogs, Kaoz and Preciouz, who were his children.
Lawrence’s funeral will be held on Friday, at 6 PM, at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 6 PM prior to the funeral.
