Obituary of Loriann M. Rowling
Loriann (Lori) M. Rowling, 51, passed away on June 18, 2023 peacefully with her family by her side after a brief illness.
Lori was born on September 11, 1971 to Theodore and Bertha (Furman) Buczkowski, Sr. She lived her entire life in Floyd, New York and was a 1992 graduate of Holland Patent Central Schools. Lori loved children and worked at several child care centers during her career, and was most recently employed by the MVCAA, Inc. Griffiss Child Development Centers in Rome and Camden.
Lori was united in marriage to Timothy Rowling on May 2, 2006. She was an active member of the Floyd Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary for the past 21 years. Lori truly loved the fire department and her membership was something she was extremely proud of because she participated alongside her father. She was a staple at the annual field days, parades, barbeque events, and Friday fish fry dinners during Lent. Lori was a kind hearted and gentle soul who gave selflessly and appreciated the beauty in all things. She enjoyed long car rides to take in nature. She was an avid reader, embroiderer, and loved doing puzzles. Most of all, she was a lover of all things Disney, especially Mickey Mouse, and everyone knew her favorite color was purple. Lori truly saw the good in everything and will be remembered for her constant smile and contagious laugh.
Lori is survived by her husband, Tim; daughter, Paige; mother, Bertha Buczkowski; sister, Robin (Karl) Vienneau; brother, Ted (Iris) Buczkowski, Jr.; nieces and nephew, Harley Buczkowski, Kylie Vienneau, Elizabeth, Jillian, and William Buczkowski; and her best friend, Kathy Pruckno. She was predeceased by her father, Ted Buczkowski, Sr.
The family would like to acknowledge and thank the staff at Strong Memorial Hospital’s Cardiac ICU unit for the care and compassion shown to Lori and her family during her time there.
Lori’s funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 6 PM, at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be in Townsend Cemetery in Stittville on Wednesday at 10 AM.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 to 6 PM prior to the funeral.
