Obituary of Kathryn G. Zilnik

Kathryn "Kay" G. Zilnik, 82, of Rome, passed away February 16, 2014, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. She was born November 28, 1931, in Rome, the daughter of the late Howard and Mae Donegan Gries, and graduated from St. Aloysius Academy in 1949. She first was employed at Revere Copper and Brass, and worked for over twenty years at the Rome and Oneida McHarris Gifts stores and later at Cornucopia Candles. She was a member of St. Paul's Church. Kathryn is survived by three daughters and sons in law, Bonnie and Richard Randall of Alexandria Bay, NY, Judith and Dale Rashford of Rome, NY, and Pamela and Steven Turczyn of Burnt Hills, NY; two sons and daughters in law, Russell and Lena Zilnik of Jacksonville, FL, and Michael and Jean Zilnik of Johnson City, NY; 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 AM from the Barry Funeral Home and a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Paul's Church. Burial will be in the spring at St. Peter's Cemetery.
