Obituary of Earl P. Arnold
Earl P. “E.P.” Arnold, age 87, of the Town of Annsville, passed away peacefully at home on May 3, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.
Earl was born in Fulton, NY on June 1, 1935 to the late Daniel and Jennie Davis Arnold. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Air Force, retiring from Griffiss AFB in 1972 after 20 years of honorable service. During his military career, he completed his Jump and Advance Freefall certifications and became a jump instructor at West Point. On June 28, 1975, he was united in marriage to the former Colleen Rash in Baldwinsville, NY. He then retired from civil service in 1992.
Earl loved sky-diving and fishing. He was a life member of the Rome VFW, the DAV, Frank J. Stetzko Post, and Smith Post #24 American Legion. He was also a founding member of the CNY Chapter of the 82nd Airborne Association.
Earl is survived by his loving wife, Colleen; his children, Paula (Kirk) Eason, Earl Arnold III, Timothy (Donna) Arnold, Frank Arnold, and Capt. Ryan (Tracey) Arnold; his grandchildren, Reagan, Mackenna, Crystal, Joey, Kirk, Earl, Chelsea, and Michelle; several great grandchildren, his siblings, Barbara Pritchard, Burnice Bourlier, Jackie Lancaster, Judy (Harold) Pryor, Gary Arnold, and Joan (Mike) Spohn; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Caroline (Don) Sanford, Geraldine (Don) Abbott, Lefa (Robert) Poole, Clifton Arnold, Amos (Valerie) Arnold, Madeline (Lou) Latray, and Gene (Patricia) Arnold.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 4 PM, at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 3 to 4 PM prior to the funeral.
