Obituary of John Allan Serfass, Jr.
John Allan Serfass, Jr, age 60, of Rome, NY, passed away peacefully at home on April 6, 2023 with his loving family at his side after a two+ year battle with cancer.
Born December 4, 1962, in Bethpage, NY, son of the late John A. and Patricia Blood Serfass. John was united in marriage to the former Mary Roland on April 29, 2006.
He proudly served in the United States Air Force for a time, after which he was employed with North American Moving Company and Birnie Bus Service where he retired. His hobbies included motorcycle riding with his closest friend Brian, the Buffalo Bills and gathering with family and friends for fellowship and barbecue.
John is survived by his loving wife, Mary; Sons: Steven Serfass, Steven Johnson, and Noah Serfass; daughters: Stephanie Hollars, Rodiesha Day, Armelinda Johnson, LaTonya Johnson. Mother-in-Law Albertha Register. Mother: Cookie Serfass, Siblings: Caryl Sacco, Robyn Villafranco, Wendy Jones, Cindy Stewart, Tracy Downing, Robert Olsen and William Serfass also with many brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, sons and daughters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, godchildren, church family, close friends, and fur babies.
Services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM, at the First Tabernacle Pentecostal Christian Center, 8086 Turin Road, Rome. Military Honors will be rendered at the beginning of the funeral service.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Lee Center, NY immediately following church services.
