Obituary of Alice M. Money

Please share a memory of Alice to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Alice M. Money, Lee Center, passed away at her home on January 13, 2023, with her family by her side.

Alice was born in the town of Lee on August 5, 1930, to the late Rowland Sr. and Leona Treen Prosser. She was educated in Lee Center and Rome schools, and remained a life long resident of Lee Center. Alice was a member of Lee Center United Methodist Church and the church women's group. As a child Alice suffered a serious life threatening illness that left her unable to walk. Overcoming many challenges, with her determination and strong spirit, she learned to walk again and have an active life as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. On July 3, 1965, she was united in marriage to George Money, a union lasting 50 years until Mr. Money's passing.

Alice was a beautiful soul - humble and compassionate. She loved baking, cooking, gardening, and just taking care of her family. She hosted several family parties and holiday dinners. Many summer days were spent with her family at her son's camp enjoying her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. On the day of her grandson Ryan's birth she experienced a debilitating injury that left her with a permanent physical disability. Again, this did not deter her from doing everything that brought her joy. She continued to be an active and supportive matriarch, that continued to the very day of her passing. Alice left a memorable legacy for her family, friends, and acquaintances as a strong, kind, warm-hearted, resilient woman.

Alice leaves behind three children, her daughter, Deb (Tom) Frawley, Kevin, and Michael; her closely bonded grandsons, Daniel (Lisa), Shan, Brandon (Gina) and Josh; great-grandchildren, Devin (Bri), Cearria, Brileigh (Hunter), Bryce (Raelynne), Mia, Hayley (Aiden), Ryan, Brookie, Michael, Kaili, Connor; along with great-great-grandchildren; her brothers, Frank (Marion) Prosser, Chuck Prosser; several nieces and nephews. Alice was predeceased by her grandson, Ryan Patrick Frawley; her sister, Renie; two brothers, Rowland Jr. and Harry Prosser; and two sisters-in-law, Minnie and Judy Prosser.

Arrangements are entrusted to Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut St., Rome.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held at Lee Center United Methodist Church, Main Street, Lee Center, on February 12, 2023, at 3 p.m.

Any contributions in Alice's name may be made to the church.
