Obituary of Katherine Anne Hamblin
Katherine Anna Hamblin, 90, of Rome, New York, passed away at home, surrounded by her family on January 1, 2023 due to Alzheimer’s.
Katherine, known as Anne to most, was born to Katherine Tigue and Mahlon Flowers in Pittson, PA, on May 16, 1932. She graduated from Barrett High School in Mount Pocono, PA. Anne was a dedicated and devoted employee of the Prescription Center Pharmacy in Rome for 48 years and loved all her customers. She was a very religious woman who attended Saint Mary’s Church weekly. Anne married Richard “Dick” Hamblin on October 14, 1977, and they had a wonderful and loving marriage. They would travel often, mostly to visit family.
She was a wonderful mother and is survived by her son, David (Jeannette) Sansenbach; her daughter, Diane (John) Dunster; grandchildren, Kaitlin Sansenbach, Michelle (Ryan) Jensen, Jessica (Mark) Delia, Joseph (Lutitia) Merlan, and five great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sisters, Mary Flowers and Rose Pepia; and her brother, James Flowers.
Anne’s spirit will be incredibly missed by all of her loved ones.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, at 11 AM at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 10 to 11 AM prior to the service.
