Sally K. Strange, age 91, of the Town of Lee, passed away peacefully at her home on October 25, 2022.

 

She was born October 8, 1931, in Rome, the daughter of the late Harold E. and Kathryn Street Kinney, and graduated from the Academy of Holy Names and Eastman School of Dental Hygiene.  Sally was united in marriage to Frank A. Strange on October 2, 1954, in St. Mary of the Assumption Church; he died December 18, 2019.  Over her long career, Sally worked for many dentists in Rome, and always had a fondness and caring compassion for her patients.  She was a member of the Ava Dorfman Senior Center and St. Paul’s Church.

 

Sally had many interests.  She loved reading and solving crossword puzzles and other word games.  She also was an avid Bridge player for many years and cherished the many friends she made over the years.

 

Sally is survived by her daughters, Karen Strange and her husband, Robert Kelly of Sauquoit, and Sandra and Kevin Kieffer of Fairport; two sons Michael Strange of Rome, and Jere and Lynetta Strange of Millville, NJ, grandchildren, Neal (Bethany), Patrick (Jennie) and Samantha; two great grandchildren, Connor and Hannah, and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a brother, Jack E. Kinney.

 

The family sincerely thanks the wonderful ladies of One Caring Place Plus for their kind and compassionate care extended to Sally.

 

Funeral Services will be private.  Burial will be in Rome Cemetery.

 

There are no calling hours.
