Obituary of Ricky Lynn Downs

Rick L. Downs, age 69, passed away on October 10, 2022, after a brief battle with cancer.

Rick was born on May 12, 1953, in Rome, to the late Harold and Rosemary Downs, and graduated from RFA in 1971. In 1979, he enlisted in the United States Army. Rick retired from Rome Memorial Hospital in 2020. He enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, and fishing.

Rick is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Downs; grandchildren, Cassidy and Joseph Lucia; sisters, Mary Lou Porter, and Kate (John) Uriarte; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, Cary (LouAnn) Downs.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, from 2 to 4 PM, followed by military honors.
