Obituary of Jean F. Kehoe
Jean Lewin Kehoe, age 98, of Rome, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.
Jean was born in Rome on April 23, 1924 to the late Claude and Mary O’Brien Lewin and graduated from St. Aloysius Academy. On October 19, 1946, she was united in marriage to Clarence “Keek” Kehoe at St. Peter’s Church; a blessed union of nearly 66 years until his passing on May 2, 2012. Jean worked as a clerk for Revere Copper and Brass.
Jean was a member of St. Paul’s Church and the Ava Dorfman Center. She loved playing cards, especially bridge, watching Lawrence Welk on Saturday nights, dancing, spending winters in Florida, and spending time with her family.
Jean is survived by her four children; Kathleen and Robert Flanders of Vestal, NY, James “Jake” Kehoe of Dunedin, FL, Patti Keyes of Whitesboro, and Karen and William Tagliaferri of Rome; her daughter in law, Diane Kehoe of Rome; her grandchildren, Robert, Eric (Marlee), Jamie (Christine), and Aubrey Flanders, Jason (Candace), Karrie, and Chad (Allyson) Kehoe, Kelly (Patrick) Flynn, Justin (Margaret) Keyes, Alyssa (Tim) Szczerba, and Jenna Tagliaferri; 10 great grandchildren; a brother in law, John (Barb) Taylor; her dear life-long friend, Margaret Brockway; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her grandsons, James Mark Kehoe and Christopher Flanders; a great granddaughter, Sophia Keyes; a son in law, Alan Keyes; and her sisters, Doris Taylor, Patricia (Larry) Ripley, and Beverly (Chuck) Leffert.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Karen and Pam of Home Helpers, and her caregiver, Betty, for the care, compassion, and friendship shown to Jean and her family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, at 11 AM, at St. Paul’s Church, with the Rev. Robert L. Kelly officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, on Thursday from 4 to 7 PM
