Constance “Connie” Goodman, age 85, of Rome, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2022, at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Connie was born in Rome on July 5, 1936 to the late Frank and Mary Lula Petronella. She graduated from Rome Free Academy. She retired from the federal government where she worked for the finance and account department.


Connie was the epitome of a family matriarch. She was a strong-willed woman who loved and cared for her family.


Connie is survived by her son, Daniel (Denise) Goodman of Rome; grandchildren, Sarah (Josh) Lee, Samantha (Daniel) White, Christopher Goodman, and Dylan and Hayley Breen; her sister, Rosemarie (Steve) Bennett; her brother, Frank (Dawn) Petronella; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Kathleen Goodman; and her son, Jeffrey Goodman.


Connie's funeral will be held on Monday at 7 PM at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be in Saint Mary's Cemetery on Tuesday at 10 AM.


Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 5 to 7 PM prior to the funeral.
