Obituary of Alice E. Hall

Alice E. Hall, age 88, of Rome, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2022, at St. Luke’s Hospital.

Alice was born in Rome on January 17, 1934, to the late George and Anna Markin Federow and graduated from Rome Free Academy. On November 5, 1955, she was united in marriage to the love of her life Frederick “Ted” Hall who passed away December 17, 2021. Alice worked in the Insurance industry over 50 years and retired from Benner Insurance in Rome in 2011.

Alice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved to cook and bake, taking pride in making everything from scratch. She also loved gardening and during the warmer months would often be found outside tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. She was an avid reader and often had several books in progress at one time.

Alice is survived by her son, Fred (Stephanie) Hall of Stanwix; her granddaughter, Stephanie (Eric) Sachs; two great-granddaughters, Kendall and Hailey; two sisters, Catherine (George) Hall, and Carol Federow; and a brother, Thomas Federow, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Ted, and her brother, George Federow Jr.

In accordance with Alice’s wishes – there will be no calling hours.

Funeral services will be held on Friday May 20th at 1 PM at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Alice’s name may be made to Abraham House.

The family would like to also thank the staff at St. Luke’s Hospital – especially the 6th Floor Nursing and Support Personnel.
