Obituary of Patricia A. Mulvihill

Patricia A. Hayes (Mulvihill), age 86, of the Town of Floyd, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2022, at Rome Health.

Patricia was born in Rome on May 6, 1935 to the late Gladstone and Vesta Wyman Hayes, and graduated from Holland Patent Central School. She worked as a therapy aide for the CNY DSO in Rome, where she retired from. She was formerly married to the late Walter Huxley and the widow of James Mulvihill.

Patricia enjoyed bird watching as well as spending time with her family.

Patricia is survived by her daughters, Sheila (Russell) Bunal of Floyd, and Michele (Perry Gifford) Chilluffo of Rome; her sons, Dennis (Yolanda) Huxley of Grady, AL, Jeffrey (Teresa) Huxley of West Monroe, NY, and Gregory Huxley of Forestport; 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; a sister, Elizabeth (Merritt) Wells of Steuben; a brother, Richard (Marty) Hayes of Floyd; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two grandchildren; one great grandchild; a sister, Joan Pelton; two brothers, Robert and Ronald Hayes; and a daughter in law, Mary Rose Huxley.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 3 PM at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be in Westernville Cemetery in the spring.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 1 to 3 PM prior to the funeral.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Floyd Volunteer Fire Department.
