Please share a memory of Dorothy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Dorothy W. Roe, age 72, of Rome, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2022, with her loving family at her side.

She was born April 11, 1949, in North Bay, a daughter of the late Earl and Winifred Colman Dutcher, and educated in Rome schools.  Dorothy was united in marriage to George W. Roe.  She worked as a certified nurse aide at the former Stonehedge Nursing Home, retiring after many years of service.

There will never be another soul that walks this earth that could compare to Dorothy.  She always put the needs of others before her own especially when it came to her family.  Dorothy had the kindest heart and giving soul.  She was the heart of her family and will be dearly missed.

Dorothy is survived by her loving husband, George; children, Laura Roe-Fenton of Rome, Julia Jones and fiancé, Kris Speed of Vancleave, MS, April and Robert Holeck of Rome, and George Roe, Jr. of Rome; a sister-in-law, Julia Canfield of Rome; grandchildren, Amanda, Aric, Kayla, Brianna and Aiden; and four great grandchildren.  She was predeceased by a daughter, Roxanne Roe.

The funeral service will be held on Friday at 7:00 PM, at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.  Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in the spring.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 5 to 7 PM, prior to the funeral service.
