Obituary of Maxine Pisano
Maxine Pisano, age 82, of Rome, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2021, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, with her loving family at her side.
She was born March 28, 1939, in Cairo, GA, a daughter of the late Norman T. and Thelma Butler Kelly. Maxine was united in marriage to Robert A. Pisano, on August 30, 1958, in Charleston, SC. She had worked at Revere Copper Products and later as an administrative assistant for the Rome City School District and Pre-K program. She was a member of St. Paul’s Church, where she taught religious education for many years and also was a member a bible study group.
Maxine was a gentle woman with strong faith and will be missed by all who knew her. She loved the time she spent with her family and enjoyed spending time with her friends, reading and expanding her education.
Maxine is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Bob; a son and daughter in law, Robert Jr, and Patricia Pisano of Indian Trail, NC; two daughters and a son in law, Tina M. and James Gaffney of Whitesboro, and Carmella A. Pisano of Rome; two sisters, Gwendlyn Robinson of Cairo, GA, and Elaine Meritt of Tallahassee, FL; two brothers and sisters in law, Kermit and Evelyn Kelly of Cairo, GA, and Kenneth and Annette Kelly of Thomasville, GA. Maxine had five grandchildren, Alycia Mae, married to Michael Sullivan, Brittany Leigh Church, John Victor Pisano, Ashley Nicole Church and Jennifer Nicole Pisano; three great grandchildren, Jayden, Angelo and Michael. A sister, Dorothy Jean Hutchinson, predeceased her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at 11:00 AM, at St. Paul’s Church. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Ronald McDonald House.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.
