Please share a memory of Darlene to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Darlene Marie DeSimone, age 66 of Rome, passed away unexpectedly on November 1st, 2021 in the comfort of her own home.

Darlene was born in Rome on March 9th, 1955 to the late Anthony F. DeSimone and Virginia Bussolo DeSimone, and graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1973, where she received the DAR Good Citizens Award. She received her degree in fine arts from Munson-Williams-Proctor Art Institute. Darlene worked for 17 years at the Oneida Daily Dispatch and several years at the Rome Art and Community Center.

Darlene is survived by her daughter, Sarah Worlock and son, Anthony Worlock of Charlotte, NC, and son Luke Worlock and fiancé Lexi Hicks of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; her twin sister, Christine DeSimone Brown and beloved brother-in-law John B. Brown, III of Boynton Beach, FL; her former husband, Theodore Worlock of Rome, NY, with whom she remained good friends; and her many Italian cousins and family members.

Darlene enjoyed reading, gardening, nature, and art. Art is where she showcased her creative ability. She was also the family historian. Darlene lived her life by the golden rule. Anyone who she crossed paths with knew how kind, caring, loving, generous and free spirited she was. Darlene was truly one of a kind.

Darlene’s mission in life was providing a happy and healthy life for her children. Mission accomplished. Life well lived.
