Nicholas Joseph Sbarglia, 93, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, October 3, 2021.

 

He was the born in Rome on April 28, 1928; a son of Comelio (Emanuel) and Rose (Strange) Sbarglia. He graduated from Rome Free Academy and worked for the City of Rome. On July 9, 1949, he was united in marriage to the former Marilyn Notary in Floral Park, Long Island.

 

Nicholas was a loving, doting husband, a great provider, and an exceptional, caring father, grandfather, great grandfather and great-great grandfather. He enjoyed walking and was a jack of all trades kind of man.

 

Nicholas leaves behind his beautiful wife of 72 years, Marilyn; his daughters, Linda Bialecki (Mitchell), and Marianne Blagoue (Michael). Also missing him will be his grandchildren, Rob Amidon, Amy Bannenberg, (David), Chelsea Bialecki, Mitchell Bialecki II, (Jamie), Heather Pilakowski, (Timothy), great grandchildren, Nicholas, Madison, DJ (David Jr.) Jonathan, Savannah, Brenda, Mitchell III, Mikah, Maja, Reed, Parker; and great-great grandchildren Amora. He also leaves behind his siblings, Gabriel Sbarglia, and Emanuel Sbarglia Jr. He was predeceased by his daughter, Susan Amidon; and sisters, Lucy Sbarglia and Amelia Bertone.

 

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 12 Noon, at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.

 

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 11 AM to 12 Noon prior to the funeral.
